ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS and
CRISIS INTERVENTIONThe Arc of Buncombe County offers support to individuals and families facing crises related to housing, medical needs, transportation, utilities, and similar challenges. These situations are classified as life-threatening emergencies, particularly for families with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Education
ADVOCACY AND LIAISON
The Arc champions and safeguards the fundamental rights of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through dedicated advocacy. We facilitate connections among people with disabilities, their families, professionals, and others, fostering hope, growth, and positive change
FASD AWARENESS PROGRAM
The Prevention Project has been created by The Arc of Buncombe County and ABC Board of Asheville, North Carolina, to provide training, education and resources to women of childbearing age to learn about this preventable disorder.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS (HEALTHY LIVING)
This initiative is designed and implemented in schools and specialized daycare programs to promote healthier eating habits, relaxation techniques, yoga, and mindfulness. Research indicates that these programs effectively reduce negative behaviors while enhancing physical fitness.

OPERATION SANTA
This holiday support initiative is aimed at assisting children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Additionally, it offers meals and support to families during the festive season.
SOCIAL ENRICHMENT
These cultural and recreational programs are crafted to minimize isolation while enhancing social thinking and skills in practical environments.
SUMMER CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are available for campers who wish to attend specialized camps but cannot cover the camp fees.
